Formation Of SAPWU

SAPWU is a Union For Post Office Employees. The idea of forming an alternative South African Post Office Union came through informal discussions around early 2008. On the 8th August 2008 in Kwaggasrand (Pretoria) a decision was taken that we start a formal registration process of the South African Postal Workers Union (SAPWU) with the Department of Labour. SAPWU (south african postal workers union) is recruiting and has members in the Postal and Courier Industry. Our main focus has been to establish ourselves in the Postal Industry and South African Post Services, specifically the post office. The second phase of our total onslaught is to capture the Courier Industry and consolidate the members in that sector to be part of SAPWU – A Union For post office Employees.
